Our tea leaves are grown in southern Malawi, Africa, within the rolling hills of the Shire Highlands in the Thyolo region.Cool temperatures at elevations of approximately 900\u20131,250<\/strong> metres, abundant rainfall, and fertile soil all create ideal conditions for tea cultivation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Satemwa Estate was founded in 1923<\/strong> by Scottish planter Maclean Kay and is now run by the third generation of his family, the Cathcart-Kay family.Their dedication to cultivation techniques, tea processing, and uncompromising quality has been passed down through generations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

At Satemwa, tea leaves are primarily hand-picked<\/strong> by skilled workers. Only the youngest, most tender leaves are selected, with strict attention paid to shape and quality.This careful selection process is what affords the tea rich aroma and depth of flavour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
